Beds for a dormitory/hostel for Maasai girls in Nyumba ya Mungu
SINTAN IP campaigned earlier in 2011 and 2012 to raise funds for the construciotn of a hostel for 48 Maasai girls near the secondary school in the aerea. Wilde Ganzen supported this initiative.
Parents and villagers supported the construction in kind, by hauling rocks from the mountains and chipping them into suitable building blocks. The hostel was completed in 2013 together with three toilet and washing cubicles.
To purchase beds and matrasses the school needed another 5900 euros.
With fundraising activities, part of the proceeds from a wedding, contributions from the Millennium Platform Aa and Hunze and the support from Wilde Ganzen the required sum was collected.
