On Friday morning October 5th a team consisting of pediatricians Ronald Boontje, Jelmer Reininga, Suzanne Broekhuizen and ambulance nurse Joost van der Ploeg, left for Tanzania. They will meet with Tanzanian gynecologist dr. Greyson Mpinga in Dodoma and together they will travel to Mvumi Hospital.
On Monday they will start training medical staff of the hospital in Newborn Life Support (NLS). Later this week they will travel to Turiani Hospital to give the same training.
The doctors bring their own reanimation dolls for training purposes, including materials. Apart from that they were given three extra training dolls donated by the Dutch foundation “SHK” (emergency care by children). A very generous gift for which we are very grateful. These three reanimation dolls will be left behind in the hospitals.
