In Bierum, a small village in the northern part of The Netherlands, young people have taken the initiative to bake “oliebollen” on New Year’s Eve as a fundraising activity to support SINTAN IP. In The Netherlands it is a tradition to bake these deep fried doughnuts on the last day of the year.
The fundraising activity will start on Friday December 30 and there will be two shifts. The fir
st baking team will start at 10 am and another team will take over at 2 pm. In the evening people can collect the “oliebollen” and enjoy a glass of glühwein or a cup of hot chocolate.
It is a heart-warming initiative and we really would like to thank the youth of Bierum!
